**Obverse:** Mark Antony, one of the triumvirs charged with restoring the Republic after Caesar's assassination, was in 41 BC reorganizing the eastern provinces from Ephesus and extracting the funds and loyalty he needed for the coming reckoning with the Liberators' partisans and, eventually, with his colleague.

**Reverse:** Octavian, Caesar's adopted son and Antony's fellow triumvir, is paired here as the public face of their alliance, a partnership maintained through the settlement at Brundisium the following year but which would dissolve into open war within a decade.
