Mark Antony, triumvir of the East and partner-turned-rival of Octavian, struck this issue in the summer of 31 BC as his forces gathered for the confrontation that would end at Actium that September.

The figure of Victory crowned within a wreath broadcasts the success Antony was claiming or anticipating on the eve of the campaign, though the naval defeat at Actium and his suicide in Alexandria the following year would reverse the message entirely.
