**Reverse context.** The two laurels recall the pair planted at the entrance to Augustus's house on the Palatine in 27 BC, granted by the Senate alongside the oak wreath and the new name *Augustus* to mark the constitutional settlement that ended the civil wars.

**Reverse legend translation.** CAESAR AVGVSTVS, "Caesar Augustus," the formal name conferred by the Senate on 16 January 27 BC, combining his adoptive Julian name with the honorific *Augustus* ("the revered one").
